MUMBAI: There has been another departure from the Ronnie Screwvala-promoted United Television.
Manish Popat, COO UTV TV content has "been asked to go," Screwvala confirmed to indiantelevision.com.
Popat was unavailable for comment but industry sources say he had resigned effective 15 July.
Popat is the fourth senior management officer to have left UTV in the recent past. Six new faces have however, come on board in the major corporate restructuring that the media company has undertaken.
Queried as to who would be replacing Popat, Screwvala said no decision had been made as yet. For the time being, the different operation heads (production head, business development manager, and five creative directors), would work independently, he said. Although Screwvala did not spell out who the seven would be reporting to, it looks likely that hands on charge would rest with UTV director Zarina Mehta.
