MUMBAI: The media industry is seeing a high rate of attrition. Barely four months after Zee Group lost the head of its demerged cable company, it is now confirmed that the chief executive officer of Zee News Ltd has resigned.

Harish Doraiswamy has put in his papers, less than a year after joining Zee News Ltd. as CEO. "I have resigned and am serving a notice period. I will be starting my own venture. I can?t spell out any more details at this stage," he tells Indiantelevision.com.

During Doraiswamy?s stint, Zee News Ltd. got listed along with Wire & Wireless India Ltd (WWIL), Zee?s demerged cable company. Zee News Ltd also launched a Marathi news channel, 24 Taas, early this year.

Interestingly, the heads of WWIL and Zee News Ltd have quit their jobs to start their independent ventures. In May, WWIL managing director Jagjit Kohli left the company and floated Digicable Network which plans to set up a pan India cable TV operations.
