MUMBAI: Locations 2003 a platform designed to open avenues for filmmaking locations kicks off on Saturday at the Mariott Hotel in the Mumbai suburb of Juhu. It concludes on Sunday.
Countries that are participating include Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia and Germany. The tourism boards from these countries will showcase their locations to our film fraternity.
Indian film and production houses are expected to clinch business deals through the platform. The event should benefit tourism development organisations, studios, infrastructure service providers and resorts.
The event has been conceptualised and will be presented by Novel Event Works company. There will also be a conference on both the days. The topics will include the effectiveness of films in promoting tourism as well as how tourism boards can incentivise the film and television industry.
Filmmakers will also share their experiences of shooting both in India and abroad.
The speakers will include Mahesh Bhatt, Ramesh Sippy, Ashutosh Gowariker, Rakesh Roshan as well as the Chhatisgarh tourism board's managing director Dr A Jayathilak.
The event is supported by the Association of Motion Pictures and TV Programme Producers. ITDC is one the event's partners.
