ICC claims encouraging ticket response for U-19 World Cup

MUMBAI: It may not be giving Max the viewership hoped for, but the Under19 cricket world cup is seeing a decent crowd attendance.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced that ticket sales for the ongoing event in Bangladesh have already topped the 100,000 mark. This is much more than what previous editions of the tournament were able to attract.

Organisers have stated that in the first week of the tournament, organisers have had to print extra tickets at three of the tournament venues as cricket fans have snapped up initial allocations in Bogra, Fatullah and Khulna. Over 21,000 tickets were sold for the opening ceremony in Dhaka and more than 17,000 have already been sold for matches in the capital.

On television unfortunately, at least in India, the viewer couldn't seem care less if the tournament is on or not.
