MUMBAI: The Hindi news channel from NDTV Ltd stable -- NDTV India has bagged the rights for the 'live' telecast of the film and television awards, the Apsara Awards. The award ceremony will be held on 21 January at NCPA and be telecast live on NDTV India.
Credibility being the focal point for the Apsara Awards, the Film and Television Producer's Guild have chosen NDTV, India's most credible news network, to partner with them for this event.
Instituted by the Film & Television Producers Guild of India, the body representing the Indian entertainment industry, the Apasra Awards is the only award within the Film and TV industry that are 'by the Industry and for the Industry'.
The Apsara Awards night is going to be attended by over 1200 of the most influential people in the film, TV, media and corporate world and top film personalities will be hosting this awards function, states an official release.
Unlike other award functions which are held outdoors, Apsara Awards is going to be an Oscar-style exclusive event, to be held indoors at the NCPA Auditorium.
The nominees in the various categories for the awards include Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Gulzar, Sunidhi Chauhan, Alka Yagnik, Shaan, Kunal Ganjawala, Abhishek Bachchan, Ayesha Kapoor, Rani Mukherjee, Vidya Balan and more.
