MUMBAI: Channel7's , Scorpio Speedster - the hunt for India's fastest bowler has come to Mumbai in search of one contender who will be selected for the national semifinals. The channel has tied up with IMG, for the reality hunt show to cater to viewers through different genres.
The tenth and the last round of the nationwide search will be held on 19 November and 20 November at Shivaji Park, Mumbai. The first nine rounds were held at Chandigarh, Delhi, Jaipur, Gwalior, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kanpur, Kolkata and Ahmedabad.
The winner of the reality hunt will be awarded with Rs 10 lakhs and four and a half months training at MRF Pace Foundation. Ajay Jadeja along with various other cricket experts is hosting the show.
The seven finalists selected during the national semifinals will be trained for the finals and will be showcased through the reality cricket show. This duel between the seven blowers would be spread across 13 episodes.
Every participant will be allowed to bowl thrice and their pace will be measured with speed guns. The ten fastest bowlers will qualify for the final of the Mumbai round, to take place on Sunday. The finalists will bowl four balls each and the bowler with the fastest speed over the two days will be declared winner.
The channel is advertising heavily through the Dainink Jagran platform and is looking at cross-promotion on television channels. Channel7 COO, Piyuish Jain adds, "We are in discussion with few channels, but we have yet to lock it."
