MUMBAI: ESPN Star Sports, Asia?s leading sports broadcaster, has unveiled a brand new presentation for the upcoming India England cricket series in Hindi on its cricket specific channel Star Cricket.
Star Cricket?s presentation/ production will be based on the theme ? ?Jo baat hindi mein hai, kissi aur mein nahi.... Dekhiye India vs. England 15 Nov se Hindi mein sirf Star Cricket par?.
Star India COO Sanjay Gupta commented, "This is the need of the hour. 85% of the core cricket viewers prefer to watch Hindi content on TV. By providing world class Hindi presentation and commentary we believe this will significantly increase the involvement with the game and have a positive impact on viewership.?
While Star Cricket will telecast the Hindi presentation, Star Sports and Star Cricket HD will have the English version.
Speaking on the occasion, ESPN Software India MD Aloke Malik said, ?We already have lined up an impressive array of cricket experts who we feel will provide a sharp, incisive and engaging view of the game. Viewers who are keen to watch the action with English commentary can catch the action on Star Sports or Star Cricket HD."
To build up its new offering, the sports broadcaster has lined up experts who will do commentary as well as studio analysis on every match day. The list includes former cricketers like Kapil Dev, Ramiz Raja, Navjot Singh Sidhu, Saurav Ganguly, Arun Lal besides noted cricket journalist Ayaz Memon amongst others.
The India England series, which is currently underway, involves four Test matches, two T20 matches and five ODIs.
MUMBAI: ESPN Star Sports (ESS), Asia‘s leading sports broadcast network, has signed new carriage deals for its cricket dedicated channel Star Cricket in the Philippines and Indonesia, highlighting its expanding footprint beyond traditional cricket markets.
In addition, with a new carriage deal for Star Cricket recently secured in Indonesia, cricket fans across the country can anticipate the channel to being available very soon.
Launched in 2007 in the Indian sub-continent, Star Cricket has continued to expand in non-traditional cricket markets over the years with presence in South East Asian markets such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Papua New Guinea, the Maldives and now the Philippines.
ESS also successfully launched Star Cricket HD in July last year in key markets across Asia such as India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Singapore.
ESPN Star Sports MD Peter Hutton said, "We‘re delighted to be able to help the ICC grow the game worldwide, and to see Star Cricket increase its popularity across Asia."
Star Cricket features international cricket events across all formats of the game and its line-up of cricket properties includes the marquee International Cricket Council (ICC) events, international and domestic cricket from India, Australia and England and Champions League Twenty20.
In addition, it also showcased the inaugural edition of the Sri Lankan Premier League and the Bangladesh Premier League earlier this year.
MUMBAI: ESPN Star Sports, which operates ESPN, Star Sports and Star Cricket channels, will air the 2012 edition of Kia X Games Asia in India.
The X Games which are Asia?s biggest action sports competition will kick off in Shanghai 29 April running through to 1 May.
ESPN will provide live and exclusive telecast of the games on from 1-3 pm on all three days. The event will feature more than 150 athletes from more than 30 countries, treating fans to competition in the sports of Skateboard, BMX, Aggressive In-Line Skate and Moto X Big Air demonstrations.
This year?s event is the 14th edition of the competition and will feature the mini-MegaRamp structure that towers more than three stories high, and longer than two basketball courts. The mini MegaRamp contests will feature Skateboard and BMX athletes dropping into a structure with a 9.2m high roll-in, launching over a gap 7.6m long and continuing into a 5.5m quarter-pipe.
