MUMBAI: It has already happened Down Under.
Mumbai: MTunes HD, the first Bollywood music channel in HD, is launching a countdown show ?MTunes Trending20? on 4 August.
Presented by Bharti Airtel, the weekly show will air every Saturday at 9pm and Sunday at 11 am and will play the top 20 songs of the week.
MTunes Trending20 aims to bring to its viewers a comprehensive analysis of audience preferences across five platforms. The final chart will be compiled by the media research organisation - Ormax Media.
The five platforms will be Radio popularity compiled by Radio City, Digital downloads provided by Hungama, YouTube views and Heartbeats (weekly music research) by Ormax Media and audience preferences as recorded by MTunes HD. A normalised measurement formula based on TV ratings data, Radio Aircheck, SMS requests, downloads/usage tracking across mobile service providers and views count on popular internet video sites will be collated to generate the weekly chart.

MUMBAI: The high-definition (HD) Bollywood music channel, MTunes HD, has launched a new time band for non-Hindi music - Alter Native.
Alter Native will feature regional and non-Hindi music on the channel. With this, the channel aims to bring to screen the songs that have attained a cult following in their respective regions and countries.

Alter Native is a manifestation of the extensive viewer research we continuously engage in. The property is aimed at both the Hindi speaking audience who wishes to experience music from around the globe as well as the considerable regional diaspora in the Hindi speaking markets who will get to experience the music from their regions.
MTunes HD programming head Cyril D?Abreo added, "With Alter Native, the viewers will get to experience music that cuts across the language barrier. The songs have been selected from an extensive library of songs spread across major languages and are definitely to be a rage with Hindi viewers too."
MUMBAI: Sony Music is creating a roadblock for ?Tu Hi Mera? song from Vishesh Films? movie Jannat 2.
The song will take over the small screen as a roadblock strategy across youth and music channels including MTV, 9XM, UTV Bindaas, UTV Stars, Zing, ETC, MTunes, Zoom, B4U and E24.
The roadblock will be on 24 March between 8 pm and 8.30 pm.
Additionally, this initiative is being supported by a print campaign across leading publications in Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Kanpur, Ahmedabad and Baroda.
Sony Music Entertainment India marketing director Sanujeet Bhujabal said, "Post the success of Jannat, there is a lot of expectation riding on the music of Jannat 2. We, therefore, decided to create a roadblock wherein fans will get an opportunity to view ?Tu Hi Mera? from Jannat 2 across leading music and youth channels. We are confident that the music will be appreciated and will surely have people hooked on to it.?
Starring Emraan Hashmi and Esha Gupta, Jannat 2 is the sequel of the 2008 film Jannat. It is slated for a 4 May release.
