MUMBAI: Imagine TV is gearing up to launch the first of its kind quiz show, ‘Gyaan Guru‘, on 23 January, in the Monday- Friday 7.30 pm band.

Gyaan Guru is based on the vast and diverse Indian culture and traditions. The show will take the audiences back to their roots where their knowledge on Indian rituals and beliefs will be tested. This show promises to educate the audience about the stories and reasons behind the different rituals, customs and beliefs that we follow.

Turner International India chief content officer Vivek Bahl said, ?Our first launch of 2012, Gyaan Guru reflects and reiterates Imagine TV‘s belief in home-grown format shows. Much like the very successful Swayamvar series, this is a unique and very Indian show that‘s sets many firsts. From the concept, to the way it‘s scheduled. While being a differentiator, it‘s presented in a vibrant, young and energetic format that‘s sure to pleasantly surprise viewers.?

The channel claims that with Gyaan Guru, it aims to bridge the gap between faith and blind faith.

This quiz show is targeted at participants from the age group of 14 to 80, be it children, housewives or even grandparents challenging each other on the same platform.

There will be two contestants and each of them will have a person to accompany them. This person (Sahayta) will be a part of the set audience and can help the contestants when in need. The one who answers first five questions correctly wins. Winner of each set is going to be called Gyaan Guru and he would defend his title against other challengers. The quiz will include various kinds of questions like "Multiple choices, true or false and many more" which will put their knowledge to the ultimate test.

The presence of a Panditji to authenticate answers and also share interesting trivia and stories behind each question will make it interesting for the entire family to enjoy the show, the channel claims. To add to the entertainment quotient, there will be a live ‘Bhajan Toli‘, which will begin and end the episodes with an Aarti.
