  • Malaysian Moto GP Live on Ten Sports

Submitted by ITV Production on Oct 23, 2009

MUMBAI: It?s the penultimate race of the MOTO GP season, at the Sepang track in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. What makes the race interesting is that fact that the fight for the crown is an ongoing one. Valentino Rossi of Team Fiat Yamaha

, is 38 points clear of his teammate Jorge Lorenzo, and knows that he has to garner the points at this race to make sure that he clinches, what would be his 9th World Championship title.

The Italian rider realizes that even if Lorenzo wins at Malaysia, he only needs to be fourth; to be crowned champion, but the fighter in him confessed that he would aim for a podium finish. All the action from this 16th race of the season will be live on Ten Sports.

Jorge Lorenzo (currently in second position) did not have a great race at the Australian Grand Prix at Philip Island, as he crashed out of the race. The Spaniard‘s first lap error at Phillip Island and title rival Valentino Rossi‘s second place finish has given Rossi a commanding 38 point advantage in the championship with only two races to go! Lorenzo, however was happy that he was not badly injured.

For TEAM Fiat Yamaha this season has been the most successful season in the team‘s history. The riders Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo have won 10 out of 15 races between them this year and there has only been one race when one of the pair has not been on the podium.

Australian Grand Prix winner, Casey Stoner will have to see how he deals with the heat and trying conditions at Sepang, after a convincing home win at Philip Island. The Australian has been plagued by fatigue problems, which have dogged him for most of the year, and the oppressive weather at Kuala Lumpur may expose that issue.

Sepang (race track): Was built, as a state-of-the-art motor racing venue in 1999, and at 16 metres across in some areas Sepang is one of the widest tracks on the circuit. With its tropical climate it could not present more different conditions to those of Phillip Island last weekend and the searing track temperatures and high humidity makes this race a test of endurance and fitness for the riders.

    Schedule:

    Day Date Time Event Telecast
Saturday 24/10/2009 10:30 am Moto GP- Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix- Qualifying Live
Sunday 25/10/2009 8:45 am Moto GP- Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix- Qualifying Live
