MUMBAI: US-based Narrowstep Inc, the TV on the Internet Company, has launched Sail.tv, the world's first 24X7 sailing broadband television channel. The channel is completely free of charge anywhere in the world with a broadband connection and aims to offer the sailing community a one-stop-shop for all sailing footage.
The channel, supported by sponsorship and advertising, will offer Internet audiences a wide range of programming, including top class regattas, instructional videos, new sailor signings, boat launches, interviews with the stars, Boat Show coverage, news, reviews, and information on the latest developments within the sport from around the world.
Narrowstep created the concept of a niche sailing channel to offer enthusiasts around the world the opportunity to watch world class events not often given mainstream TV coverage, states an official release.
Currently Narrowstep has more than 50 global channels in existence offering live, archive, highlights and on-demand viewing seven days a week, 365 days a year at top class quality. The Narrowstep technology offers viewing speeds between 56kb to 1800kb depending on a viewer's Internet speed which the technology automatically detects upon login, the release adds.
