MUMBAI: The husband and wife team of Radhika and Prannoy Roy of New Delhi Television (NDTV) have won the Ernst & Young (E&Y) Entrepreneur of the Year award in the information, communications and entertainment sector for 2003.
CNBC TV 18 promoter Raghav Bahl was the other nominne from the television sector nominated in the ICE category. In winning this year's award, Roy scored over traditional technology ventures.
The E&Y Entrepreneur of The Year 2003 award went to Tata Group chairman Ratan Tata, who received the award from deputy prime minister LK Advani. Tata will now represent India at the Ernst & Young World Entrepreneur of The Year award ceremony in Monte Carlo, Monaco, in June 2004. 
The legendary founder of the Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation Dr Verghese Kurien received the Lifetime Achievement Award for making the milk cooperative movement a reality which has improved the lives of millions of farmers in the country.
Among the other winners are Ajay Piramal, chairman, Nicholas Piramal, who won the award in the Healthcare and Life Sciences category. The award for manufacturing went to Asian Paints' Ashwin Dani. Uday S Kotak won in the services category for Kotak Mahindra Bank while Maruti Udyog MD Jagdish Khattar bagged the manager entrepreneur award.
The start-up entrepreneur award went to Bangalore-based heart surgeon Dr Devi Prasad Shetty of Narayana Hrudayalaya, for the novel hospital project she has instituted to provide affordable healthcare.
The awards were decided by a panel chaired by Infosys Technologies chairman and chief mentor NR Narayana Murthy, who won this year's E&Y World Entrepreneur of The Year award.
