WIN 94.6's Marathi show 'Asmita' and RJ Malishka turn one

MUMBAI: Asmita, the only Marathi show on WIN 94.6 FM in Mumbai, with its radio jockey Anjali, finishes one year of waking up Mumbai on 9 September.
RJ Anjali renowned for her calm and collected persona presides over the show from 5 am to 7 am and it is one of the earliest live shows in Mumbai. Being Mumbai's only Marathi radio show, Asmita has won the hearts of not only the Maharashtrians, but also those who need a gentle and soothing start to their day.
With a winning formula of devotional and bhakti geet from 5 am to 6 am, and a mixed fare (movie songs, Bhavgeet and Natyageet), from 6 am to 7 am, Asmita also features live interviews of the Marathi industry’s leading artists.
From actor Sameer Dharmadhikari to singer and composer Shreedhar Phadke, artistes have not shied away from coming into the studios at such inconvenient hours. “Primarily because of the timing, I never thought my show would be such a hit. However now I have listeners calling in and telling me how they wake up early only to listen to Asmita. It has been a very rewarding year,” says RJ Anjali.
Unexpectedly, her sign off with RJ Malishka at 7 am has become a hit as well. A ‘link’ that happened by mistake once when Malishka walked into the studio earlier than expected, has now become a household item, so much so that advertisers insist on their ads playing before the famous Anjali-Malishka t?te-?-t?te.
RJ Malishka also completed one year in WIN 94.6. She is one of the popular morning RJs in Mumbai. Malishka has proved that more than her energy, versatility and spontaneity, she has the staying power.
In a short span of time she has already won two awards – the Suvidha Gaurav award for the most popular radio jockey in Mumbai, as well as the coveted RAPA award for her morning show.
