MUMBAI: US media conglomerate Viacom has announced that Joseph Ianniello has been appointed senior VP and treasurer.

He will be responsible for corporate development, corporate finance, worldwide treasury and risk management activities for the Company. Ianniello was formerly VP corporate development at Viacom. He will continue to report to Viacom’s executive VP and CFO Michael Dolan.

Ianniello succeeds Robert Freedline, who left the company in March. Dolan says, “Joe’s longstanding affiliation with Viacom, combined with his deep understanding of our many businesses, makes him an ideal candidate for this position. Joe’s knowledge of the financial markets and his superb judgment will serve Viacom well, particularly as we move ahead with our announced spin-off and create two independent and financially strong public companies.”
