NEW YORK: Bloomberg, the global news and information organisation, has launched AV (audio-visual) via the Bloomberg Professional Service to all users. Using AV, users can watch Bloomberg Television; listen to Bloomberg Radio; and access stories on demand from around the world in video and audio formats within their desktop environment. Video now becomes another integral tool to monitor the markets via the Bloomberg system.
AV is the new Bloomberg media portal that allows clients to utilise all Bloomberg media functionalities under one umbrella. Users will gain access to live coverage of events such as press conferences, forums, government hearings, seminars plus extended interactive interviews with Bloomberg Television guests, all of these in their entirety as they happen. Bloomberg's nine global TV channels (VID ) and Bloomberg Radio WBBR 1130 (AIR), allow users to see and hear live and archived news from their desktops.
AV enables users to access multiple information channels via one integrated platform -- the Bloomberg Professional Service. Users will now be able to incorporate multimedia functionality including Bloomberg Television and Bloomberg Radio live and on demand news coverage into their launchpad screens immediately.
Clients with news alert filters will receive e-mail alerts prior to the upcoming interviews and will be able to watch them live from their desktops or access it on their own time as an archived multimedia report. With AV, Bloomberg users can watch their local news wherever they are, whenever they wish.
Archived multimedia reports of news conferences, teleconferences and interviews along with Bloomberg television and radio programme guides and guest schedules will be made available through AV.
Bloomberg will also utilise the live technology for the training of its customers in an e-learning environment supported by live video and Bloomberg's instant messaging, all executed through the Bloomberg Professional Service.
