MUMBAI: BBC One is set to launch a brand new musical reality show Just the Two of Us, in which celebrities will team up with well-known singers for a duet competition.
Set for a 23 February launch, Just the Two of Us will be hosted by Vernon Kay and Tess Daly. The show comes from the same team, which created the popular Strictly Come Dancing.
Just the Two of Us format has competitors voted on by a panel of celebrity judges as well as by viewers. They will perform with the backing of a live band.
The singers competing include Jocelyn Brown, Natasha Hamilton, Beverley Knight, Jo O'Meara, Russell Watson, Martin Fry, Alexander O'Neal and Curtis Stigers.
The BBC's creative head of format entertainment, Richard Hopkins said, "The dynamic of the pro-celebrity duos training and performing together proved constantly compelling in Strictly Come Dancing, and we can't wait to see how our singing couples cope with the pressure of the live BBC One shows."
