In a bid to connect with kids, Cartoon Network has announced a contest in association with Max Magik. This will celebrate the playful spirit of the Holi festival, to be celebrated on 29 March this year.
Through Max Magik Holi Maaza, more than 2,500 limited edition Cartoon Network-branded pichkaris (water guns) will be given away. Children have to identify the silhouettes of three toon stars drenched in Holi colours when they appear on the network in the coming days to qualify for the prizes.
Entries have to be sent to Cartoon Network by post or by logging on to the site before 18 March. The channel has also announced a weekend of special Holi programming. This will air on 29-31 March from 4 - 6 pm. The Holi Splash-a-thon initiative will have water-themed episodes - Popeye, Dexter's Laboratory, Tom and Jerry, the Flintstones and Mike, Lu and Og will feature.
Another programme called Fish Police, billed as a classic whodunnit set in the murky underwater metropolis of Fish City will also air the same weekend. The cops-n-robbers story involves fish engaged in a constant fight against crime.
