Discovery India celebrates 10 years

MUMBAI: To commemorate the successful completion of ten years in India Discovery is launching a 10-day long programming bonanza for its viewers in 10 Years Of Discovery.

Featuring ten of the most successful and popular programmes aired on the channel in the last ten years, the initiative will cover the wide spectrum of Discovery Channel programmes that has satisfied the curiosity of every member of the family - young or old, male or female.

The shows that will be showcased include the Emmy winning special Raising the Mammoth and film director James Cameron's Expedition: Bismarck. The series also features The Patiala Necklace, revealing the story behind one of the most expensive pieces of jewellery ever created by the House of Cartier, for Maharaja Sir Bhupinder Singh of Patiala.

10 Years Of Discovery will air on Discovery Channel from 10-19 October at 8 pm.

Discovery India brand director Raja Balasubramanian said, "10 Years Of Discovery brings to viewers some of the most enthralling programmes presented by Discovery over the last ten years. Besides covering the best history, science, adventure and wildlife shows from around the world, the series also features the unique story of the Patiala Necklace that has fascinated audiences worldwide".

Discovery states that it has done important things to grow the brand over the course of the decade. These have included introducing the Hindi feed, launching the Discover India series and the distribution alliance with Sony - The One Alliance.
