MUMBAI: British Sky Broadcasting (BSkyB) has started offering video and text updates on the latest sports, news and weather to mobile users.

The downloadable application is currently available to users on the UK-based mobile operators Vodafone, Orange, T-Mobile and 3 networks.

The new service also helps users to access live scoreboards, fixtures and results for several sporting events. Subscribers can also personalise the sports section to follow their favourite sports or stars.

The service also offers weather forecasts. This will include regular video updates and a 24-hour outlook for around 100 UK cities.

The service is available with a free subscription for a limited period.
