MUMBAI: Ready, set go! Viacom's music and lifestyle channel VH1 in the US has teamed up with culture group Ego Trip.
The two will produce a three-part special that will air later this month. It takes a humorous, yet serious look at America's biggest taboo subject - race.
Ego Trip's Race-O-Rama puts the spotlight on the subtle and blatant lingering racism in America by continuing to prove that ignorance is not bliss and laughter is the best antidote to the US culture's history of pride, pain and prejudice. The special is based on the vision of Ego Trip, a quintet of multi-cultural and racially-mixed mavericks: Sacha Jenkins, Elliott Wilson, Chairman Mao, Gabriel Alvarez and Brent Rollins.
One special Hour One: Dude, Where's My Ghetto Pass? explores American society's obsession with all things in black culture. Meanwhile Blackaphobia! asks the question: How much longer will black people be stereotyped as the toughest, most intimidating minority in America?
