MUMBAI: After three weeks of blackout threat, Star Den has resolved its commercial dispute with IndusInd Media and Communications Ltd (IMCL).
The television distribution company and the multi-system operator (MSO) are set to sign a fresh carriage agreement, after it had expired on 31 December 2010.
"We were on dispute over Star Den‘s second bouquet. That has been settled now. We will soon sign the contract," said IMCL CEO and MD Ravi Mansukhani said.
Star Den had lost all the TV18 group channels (CNN IBN, IBN7, CNBC TV18 and CNBC Awaaz) but had won the NDTV channels which were added in the second bouquet.
Star Den CEO Gurjeev Singh Kapoor was not available for comment.
Earlier, as negotiations had failed between the two parties, Star Den had issued a public notice and threatened to switch off signals to Incablenet (IMCL‘s cable business operates under Incablenet brand) by 22 April.
IMCL had then moved the Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (Tdsat) seeking intervention and the case was up for hearing on 20 April.
Star Den distributes channels such as Star Plus, Star Movies, Star World, National Geographic Channel, NDTV 24x7, NDTV Profit, NDTV Good Times, NDTV India, MGM and Fox History & Entertainment.
