Sony to take Bengali movie channel to UK, Australia

MUMBAI: Sony Entertainment Television Network (SETN) is planning to expand the reach of its Bengali movie channel Sony Aath in the international market.

SEN has already launched the channel in US and Canada and is now gearing up to take the channel to UK and Australia.

“We have launched Sony Aath in US and Canada markets some time back. The channel will be launched soon in UK and Australia,” SETN EVP and head of international business Neeraj Arora told Indiantelevision.com.

Arora said that all the channels from Sony are positioned as premier channels and are available either on a standalone basis or in the main Asian packs on all the major platforms.

In UK, the company has a distribution bouquet ViewAsia, which includes Sony Entertainment Television (Set), Max and Sab apart from third party channels like Colors, Aaj Tak, Sahara One, B4U Movies and ARY.

The plan is to launch ViewAsia in Europe in July, said Arora.
