Raduga TV doubles subscriber base amid rapid DTH growth in Russia

MUMBAI: Raduga TV has mopped up 160,000 DTH subscribers, more than doubling its base in a year‘s time as it benefits from the sector‘s rapid growth in Russia.

Raduga TV is the first DTH platform to be backed by a foreign company, Modern Times Group (MTG), that has acquired a 50 per cent stake in Raguda TV‘s operation from Continental Media in February last year for an undisclosed fee.

According to Raduga general director A Sosnovskyj, the platform has sold as many as 300,000 smart cards.

Raduga TV is distributed by ABS-1 at 75 degrees East and covers over 90 per cent of Russia.
