IndusInd Media FY'11 net up 93% at Rs 643.6 mn

MUMBAI: Hinduja Venture’s cable distribution subsidiary IndusInd Media and Communications Limited (IMCL) has reported a whopping 93.22 per cent increase in net profit for the fiscal ended 31 March 2011.

Along with the subsidiaries, IMCL has posted a net profit of Rs 973.6 million for the fiscal, as compared to a net profit of Rs 333.1 million in the year-ago period.
  
Total income for the year jumped 22.57 per cent to Rs 4.03 billion, up from Rs 3.29 billion in FY’10.

Ebidta jumped 70.7 per cent during the year to Rs 1.18 billion, as compared to Rs 690.1 million in FY‘10.

Meanwhile, for the quarter ended 31 March, the company has posted a net profit of Rs 174.6 million, a 49.28 per cent jump over year ago (Rs 116.9 million). 
 
Total income for the quarter stood at Rs 1.16 billion, up 19.75 per cent as against Rs 971.4 million in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.

Ebidta for the quarter was at Rs 294.1 million compared to Rs 207.1 million, showing a 42.01 per cent increase.

IMCL claims a subscriber base of over 8.5 million across 27 major cities. It offers 301 channels in the digital mode and about 90 TV channels on analogue cable.

IMCL said Wednesday it has a backbone of over 10,000 km of hybrid fibre optic network.

Shares of Hinduja Ventures jumped 5.97 per cent to end Wednesday at Rs 270.7 on the BSE, up from the previous close of Rs 255.45.
