CommunicAsia: NTT DoCoMo to showcase cross-border NFC services

MUMBAI: Japanese telecom major NTT DoCoMo will participate in the CommunicAsia2011 exhibition that takes place in Singapore from 21 – 24 June.

This year the company is highlighting its cross-border NFC services, compact 6-band power amplifier for mobile handsets and advanced interactive AR technology.

The booth will showcase advanced technologies:

Compact multi-band power amplifiers, including a 6-band prototype for LTE, W-CDMA, and GSM mobile handsets.
Advanced interactive augmented-reality technology for mobile applications.
It will also showcase services for global deployment:

Cross-border NFC services planned with KT Corp., South Korea‘s leading telecom operator.
Mobile comics offered under affiliate brand Tata DOCOMO in India and DOCOMO partner net-mobile.
Mobile services from Japan, such as highly personalized location-based info, mail alerts, coupons, etc.; on-device portal for access to a range of applications/services of user‘s mobile operator; and DoCoMo DriveNet, which turns a smartphone into a full-fledged satellite car-navigation system.

It will also display its mobile web portal (docomo market) where Japanese customers can discover Android applications; and global content-distribution services offered by DoCoMo partner, net-mobile.
