TRAI directs Dish TV to comply with provisions of new tariff order

Dish TV has five days to abide by the new regulation.

MUMBAI: The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has issued a fresh directive to another DTH operator, Dish TV, to ensure compliance with its new tariff order.

TRAI says that Dish TV is forcefully offering a bouquet of free to air (FTA) channels and not giving consumers any choice. This is in addition to the channels opted by the subscribers and the following message is being displayed- “This is a free to air bouquet at no extra charge. If you have selected any pay channel, then this bouquet will not impact your NCF.”

In its notice, TRAI says that after receiving several complaints from consumers and went to inspect Dish TV’s website for both Dish TV and d2h. Consumers aren’t able to contact the toll-free number.

TRAI has asked Dish TV to ensure that it complies with the requirements of the new tariff order within five days from the issue of the direction.

A day ago, TRAI issued a notice to Airtel Digital TV for non-compliance with the new tariff order.
