MUMBAI: UTV Motion Pictures has forayed into Malayalam films with director Saji Surendran‘s Husbands in Goa.
Starring Jayasurya, Asif Ali, Biju Menon, Indrajith, Bhama, Bhavana and Samvritha Sunil, the film is the story of three husbands (Jayasurya, Indrajith and Asif) who are on a trip to Goa to take a break from their messy married lives.
During the trip, they become friends with a rogue husband (Biju Menon), who is on the verge of divorcing his wife. Things get more interesting when their wives join them in Goa and from then on, it is a cat-and-mouse game.
Indrajith, who plays a lawyer in a family Court, is married to Bhavana, the pampered sister of four brothers. Owing to her laziness, he has to do the household chores. Jayasurya, the second friend, is a chartered accountant married to Bhama; he is an extremely devotional man. Asif Ali, a bank officer, is married to Samvritha Sunil, a highly educated woman who runs entrance coaching class.
The film will go on floors in February next year. Meanwhile, UTV is reportedly planning to do a project with Mohanlal, to be directed by B Unnikrishnan.
UTV‘s last film in the South was the Vikram starrer Tamil film, Deiva Thiirumagal.
