MUMBAI: R Mahesh Kumar has joined Kalanithi Maran’s direct-to-home (DTH) company Sun Direct as CEO.
 
Kumar replaces Tony D’Silva, who, as reported earlier by Indiantelevision.com, has been elevated to the post of Sun Group chief executive officer and will be responsible for all businesses including television, print, FM radio, cable TV, satellite channel distribution and aviation.
 
Kumar moves in from Asianet Satellite Communications where he was serving as president and CEO. Kumar has been associated with Asianet since 1999 when the company was at its initial stages. He has played a key role in establishing Asianet as one of the largest players in the cable and broadband space in the south.
