After the initial years of struggle, Devsaab, as he is fondly called in the industry started his film career with Hum Ek Hai but his first success came with Bombay Talkies' Ziddi. Later he went on to give many hits including Johnny Mera Naam, Prem Pujari, Hare Rama Hare Krishna, Desh Pardes to name a few. With a huge fan following ranging from the grandmother to the grand daughter, Dev Anand has acted and romanced with heroines starting from Suraiya to Zeenat Aman.
Even at the age of 80, he continues to work with the same level of amazing energy, which he showed during his heydays. Presently he is working on a film on Norah Jones and sitar maestro Pt.
