MUMBAI: As per an ANI report, America-based online marketplace and hospitality service brokerage company Airbnb is looking to double its marketing investments in India. The move comes in post Singapore, where its APAC headquarter is based, decided to keep existing restrictions on short-term rentals.
Last month, the Singapore Urban Redevelopment Authority had announced that the current limit on vacation rentals will remain after an extensive and comprehensive five-year engagement with various stakeholders including residents, property owners, and home-sharing platforms like Airbnb.
As revealed by Airbnb APAC regional director Siew Kum Hong at Skift Forum in Singapore and reported by Mumbrella, the number of listings on Airbnb in India went up by 150 per cent in 2018.
