MUMBAI: There is far more to National Geographic than just documentaries and infotainment shows.
National Geographic Television and Film (NGT&F) has plans to develop a new animated series aimed at the six to 11 age group.
NGT&F's kids programming and production unit has tapped US-based award-winning animation experts Paul Rugg and Adam Taylor to develop the animated series.
The Peabody- and Emmy-winning director Rugg's credits include Animaniacs, Freakazoid! and Tiny Toons Adventures, while Taylor is a principal at the award-winning animation house Taylor Entertainment Group.
"Adam Taylor's highly imaginative creative talent and fresh artistic style coupled with Paul Rugg's amazing and wildly funny storytelling will make for a uniquely entertaining animated series that we look forward to bringing to the global marketplace," NGT&F president, kids' programming and production, Donna Friedman Meir, is quoted as saying in a media report sourced out of Los Angeles.
