MUMBAI: One Chinese television drama is making waves in the Asian market.

The soap Talented Girl, Pretty Boy, starring Taiwan actress Ruby Lin and mainland actor Lu Yi, has already been bought by a Japanese publisher. Networks in Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia have also expressed their desire to acquire the television drama.

The drama series, set in modern society, depicts young Chinese people's lifestyle, mental health and attitudes towards fashion.

A cinematic version of the TV series is also in the offing. The movie version will be directed by Hong Kong Stanley Tong.
