NEW DELHI: The dead on its feet rollout of conditional access system (CAS) has just had a dose of oxygen pumped into it. In a ruling with far-reaching implications, the Delhi High Court today quashed the denotification of the the capital Delhi from the CAS implementation map.
While giving its ruling, the HC also questioned the Central government's motives in denotifying Delhi. What this in effect means is that the government would now have to renotify CAS in Delhi.
The HC was giving its judgment on a clutch of petitions on (CAS) where the Central government is a respondent filed by Zee Telefilms cable arm Siti Cable, the Delhi-based Cable Networks Association and an individual.
