PARIS: From today Playin'TV which claims to be the leading interactive games channel in the world, starts on TPS (channel 55/Bandiagara), France Télécom Câble (Channel 41) and NTL (Channel 900),
It is also introducing a new programme schedule in order to increase the number of subscribers, and to make loyal the hundreds of thousands of regular players of the channel.
Playin'TV's new look created in-house offers a smoother navigation, says the release. It enables a better visualisation of the games and above all to test them out for free before subscribing. Alternatively there is a Pay Per Play section.
Playin'TV has also unveiled its unique broadcast architecture, which enables it to change and re-organise its programme schedule in real time. TPS is the first network with whom the Visiware group, editor of the Playin'TV channel, has successfully experimented with this innovative technology.
Playin'TV will now offer a number of advantages reserved to TPS subscribers. These include:
- The possibility to play against other gamers and win prizes such as home cinemas, DVD players by entering the weekly game competition.
- The ranking of the best players for each game, all categories mixed together, and for the whole of France.
- It promises surprises with a different game every day, only accessible to subscribers (during the summer).
- In addition it provides a chance for viewers to be seen on the television. Viewers can send in a photo of themselves and high scores and/or comments on the game.
Playin'TV claims to be available to more than 27 million households in the world, Echostar (USA), Bell Express VU (Canada), CanalSatellite and TPS (France), Via Digital (Spain), Sky (New Zealand), Austar, (Australia), Viasat (Scandinavia).
