NEW DELHI: The Indian Broadcasting Foundation (IBF) met here yesterday to discuss various issues, including finding a replacement for executive director Bhuwan Lall whose three-year tenure got over recently.
It was expected that the CAS issue would figure prominently at the meeting, but, as a senior IBF office-bearer pointed out, "As far as we are concerned, the issue of CAS is now over."
The meeting was attended amongst others by Prasar Bharati CEO KS Sarma, Star India CEO Peter Mukerjea, SET-Discovery One Alliance president Shantonu Aditya ESPN Star Sports' Manu Sawhney and a representative from TV Today Network.
According to sources in the IBF, one of the persons being considered for the ED's post is a former secretary in the information and broadcasting ministry, NP Nawani. A low-profile bureaucrat, Nawani, if chosen, may be a complete antithesis to Lall who loved to keep as high a profile as the organisation's various members.
