MUMBAI: Intel Corporation and MTV Networks has announced that MTV Networks is optimising its Comedy Central, MTV, Vh1 and mtvU broadband networks for the new Intel Viiv technology platform.
The technology, Intel Viiv has been designed to enhance and manage digital entertainment in the home.
Viewers will be able to display content from Comedy Central's MotherLoad, MTV’s Overdrive, Vh1’s VSpot and mtvU’s broadband networks directly on Intel Viiv technology–based PCs.
The PCs based on the Intel Viiv technology platform will be able to support high definition video, surround sound and many other exciting features for the consumer that demands more from their entertainment experience, informs an official communique.
“The new Intel Viiv technology promises to power an entirely new generation of devices that will give our audience even more ways to access our unique programming and digital experiences,” said MTV Networks’ chief digital officer Jason Hirschhorn.
"Adding the support of MTV to the Intel Viiv platform is an important addition in our quest to deliver a great digital entertainment experience in the home,” said Intel vice president, Digital Home Group and general manager content services group Kevin Corbett. “Intel looks forward to working with MTV to make its unique blend of comedy, music and entertainment programming a personal, digital experience for consumers.”
The MotherLoad, Overdrive, VSpot and mtvU broadband networks offer viewers a vast catalog of music videos, exclusive performances, regularly updated news features and movie trailers.
Comedy Central's MotherLoad features exclusive and dedicated content including video clips from current and classic Comedy Central shows, including The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Additional exclusive and dedicated content includes sneak previews, behind–the–scenes exclusives, highlights from thousands of stand–up performances, and newly created exclusive short–form series such as I Love the Thirties.
MTV’s Overdrive broadband network includes highlights of today’s programming and exclusive updates from MTV News. The other features includes music programming blocks, new artist franchises and clips from the exclusive MTV.com Live performance series. Overdrive also gives fans behind–the–scenes access to their favorite MTV shows as well as exclusive clips from Total Request Live, adds the release.
VSpot, Vh1’s pop culture and entertainment broadband network, delivers VH1’s best video programming on–demand. VSpot's music, movies, shows and hot stuff channels offer thousands of music videos, artist interviews, live events coverage, behind–the–scenes access, and exclusive in–studio performances. Viewers can also watch VSpot originals, movie clips and trailers, Vh1 shows such as The Surreal Life and outtakes from I Love the 80s.
mtvU, the 24–hour network dedicated to emerging music and everything that’s great about college, according to the release is the first MTV Networks channel to be distributed in its entirety both live and on–demand on MCE, enabling viewers to program their own channel or just sit back and watch. At the heart of the channel are music videos from emerging artists that can't be seen anywhere else.
