CANNES: The Festival De Television De Banff 2003 has decided to honour German national broadcaster ZDF German Television with the Global Television Outstanding Achievement Award in its 24th edition to be held in June.
The announcement was made at MIPTV's Palais de Festivals in Cannes today. The Banff Television Festival is to be held between 8 and 13 June at the Fairmont Banff Springs in the Canadian Rockies.
Says Banff Television Foundation CEO Pat Ferns: "For more than four decades ZDF has been informing and entertaining German audiences with a superb public broadcasting service and it has evolved in recent times to provide international programming through coproductions. and partnership."
The award will be received by ZDF German television director general Markus Schachter on 10 June at a special tribute evening celebration.
