• Star Pravah to premiere 'Vijay Aso' on 24 March

    March: Star Pravah is set to premiere ?Vijay Aso? on 24 March at 7 pm.

    ?Vijay Aso? features Chinmay Mandlekar, Murli Sharma, Namrata Gaikwad, Ganesh Yadav, Amita Khopkar, Kedar Shinde, Janardan Parab, and Priyadarshan Jadhav in key roles.

    The film is noted cinematographer Rahul Jadhav?s debut directorial venture.

    ?Vijay Aso? showcases the political scene which we witness in our daily lives. The film is about how party workers are manipulated by shrewd politicians for their own selfish interest. The hidden clashes between the political head honchos and their workers, their different agendas, their victories and losses are shown in this movie.

    Vijay Aso is a fast paced narration of the story about a political party-worker Shankar Gawde (Chinmay Mandlekar) who works under Forest Minister Prakash Jadhav (Murli Sharma). To get success in his political ambitions, Jadhav uses Gawde to stage fake protests and gatherings.

    The story takes a turn when Jadhav is exposed by television journalist Shrikant Pathak, which makes Gawde shell shocked when he realises his blind faith is misused by Jadhav to cover up allegation against him.

  • Star Pravah to air short stories created in-house

    MUMBAI: Star Pravah has introduced a new programming initiative titled ?Silver Screen?, for Sunday evenings.

    As a part of this initiative, Start Pravah will telecast short stories conceptualised and created by their in-house creative team.

    ?Aaji Festival? is second in this series of original productions under ?Silver Screen?. It is conceptualised by the Star Pravah programming team.

    Written by Jayesh Patil and directed by noted director Rahul Jadhav, ?Aaji Festival? stars actors like Nirmiti Sawant, Nikhil Ratnaparkhi and Girija Oak.

    Aaji Festival will air on 10 February at 7 pm.

    According to the channel, Aaji Festival is a reflection of today?s modern family, where members run after career, money and social status. It is a story based on the Pawaskars, a well-to-do but dysfunctional family where Keshav is busy with his career and his wife Sonali devotes more time in kitty parties. Their lives take a U-turn when Aaji?s sweet and sour character played by popular actress Nirmiti Sawant brings in new twists in their lives.

  • Star Pravah to air new family comedy drama at 9 pm

    MUMBAI: Star Pravah will air a new family comedy drama, ?Ambat Goad?, beginning 10 December.

    ?Ambat Goad? will replace ?Suvasini? at 9 pm and air Monday-Saturday. It is about tangy relationships in a family and takes a look at the family of Vidhawans.

    The show boasts of veterans like Sanjay Mone, Vandana Gupte and Mangesh Kulkarni. Accompanying them are popular comedy actors like Vishakha Subhedar, Suhas Paranjape and Abhijeet Chavan. Saksham Kulkarni and Ketaki Chitale lend freshness to this sweet comedy.

    Star Pravah creative director Shrabani Deodhar said, ?We are happy to present a comedy with family value and which the entire family can watch together. It is a heartwarming comedy of Vidhwans family which has all their quirks, and sweet-sour funny moments."

    The show is produced by Cine Mantra which is co-owned by Shalini Thackeray and Ameya Khopkar.

  • Star Pravah to premiere 'Bharatiya' on 2 Dec

    MUMBAI: Star Pravah has announced the world television premiere of Marathi movie ?Bharatiya? on 2 December at 7 pm.

    According to the channel, ?Bharatiya? sends across a message to the Central government, for their apathy to understand the real problems of rural area.

    The movie is produced by Abhijeet Ghola.

    In the movie, city-dweller Abhay (Subodh Bhave) returns to his native place Adnide to trace his roots and claim rights over his ancestral property.

    He is in for a shock when village head (Mohan Agashe), who has occupied the house, refuses to vacate the place saying he owns it and has been running it since decades.

    Abhay is unable to prove his right over the property as Adnide has no official existence in either Maharashtra or Karnataka. In his fight to win his house back, Abhay lays his hands on something which makes Adnide a burning national issue.

  • Star Pravah to launch international travel reality show

    Mumbai: Star Pravah, the Marathi general entertainment channel from Star Network bouquet, is launching for the first time an International Travel Reality show presented by Cox & Kings.

    Titled ?Aamhi Travelkar?, the show will air everyday at 10.30 am starting 4 November.

    The 13 episodic series will be hosted by Marathi television actor Priya Bapat. It will feature 13 destinations across the globe presented from a traveller?s perspective.

    This travel reality show was conceptualised last year when Cox & Kings launched their tours for Maharashtrians called Anand Yatra.

    Customers who booked the Anand Yatra tours to domestic, European and American destinations entered a lucky draw wherein they had to choose their "dream destination" that they would like to showcase on TV. The 13 "lucky" winners visited and explored their dream destination along with Bapat.

    The destinations included Heidelberg & Neushwanstein Castle in Germany; Glacier 3000, Jungrau, Gstaad & Mt Cox & Kings in Switzerland; Rome, Italy; Innsbruck, Austria; Paris, France; Amsterdam, Netherlands; Brussels, Belgium and Kashmir & Gujarat in India.

    The show will have four sections beginning with Bapat introducing the winner and talking about their choice of the Dream Destination, followed by the exploration of the dream destination, showcasing its history, culture and significance.

    The third section is a contest/ challenge designed around the destination which the hostess poses to the participants to create "happy memories" for them, finally ending with a few words written by the winners about their experience on a local post card.

    MUMBAI: Star Pravah is launching a game show titled ?Tumchya Sathi Kaypan?.

    The show, hosted by Sunil Barve, will go on air on 22 October and will air every Monday to Saturday at 6.30 pm.

    ?Tumchya Sathi Kaypan? will be presented by Sunfeast Marie Light.

    The game show will focus on the relationship between a husband and wife. The husband performs a series of tasks across several rounds to win the wife?s heart.

    During the show there will interactions, question-answers and general games which will bring the best ?camaraderie? between the couple.

    Star Pravah creative director Shrabani Deodhar said, ?We are extremely proud to present ?Tumchya Sathi Kaypan?, a distinct game show where couples will rediscover joys of matrimony and they will relive happy moments of their married life.?
