Bindass to shed UTV name, go ‘Rest Less’ from 16 April

MUMBAI: Bindass business head Keith Alphonso has quit thecompany to join Only Much Louder (OML) as revenue head.
Bindass has not yet decided on Alphonso‘s replacement. The channel will be looked after by Disney UTV executive director, youth channels - Media Networks Nikhil Gandhi.
In his new role at OML, Alphonso will be creating opportunities to enhance brand experiences across TV, Live Events and Digital.
Alphonso‘s last day at Bindass was 16 August while he joined OML on 20 August.
"Yes, I have joined OML as the revenue head," he said.
Alphonso had joined Bindass in March 2011 (then UTV Bindass) and was part of the channel when it got taken over by Walt Disney Company and was rebranded. Prior to joining Bindass, he had also worked with Zoom as head-sales division, MTV India as regional director ad sales - West and South and The Times of India.
MUMBAI: Bindass, the Indian youth entertainment brand, is bringing back its popular show ?Emotional Atyachaar? but with a twist.
With ?Emotional Atyachaar?, the channel attempted to help people see the reality behind their relationships and understand how honest and genuine one?s partner is.
Titled ?Atyachaar Ka Punchnama?, the new show will see Big Switch 3 finalist Sushant Divgikar taking the audience through the stories that unfolded in the past episodes of Emotional Atyachaar.
Starting 17 August, ?Atyachaar Ka Punchnama? will air every Friday at 7 pm.
Divgikar says, "I will take the audience through the previous cases of Emotional Atyachaar, presenting an interesting analysis on them as the host of Atyachaar Ka Punchanama. I have always been a fan of the iconic show Emotional Atyachaar, so when I got a chance to be a part of it in a format that presents it with a twist, I thought this was totally my style and grabbed the opportunity."
?Atyachaar Ka Punchnama? will give the viewers a take on what happened when lovers came to know of their cheating partners. The viewers will also see the host giving his opinions, love advice and unheard tips on new age dating.

Starting 12 August, the ninth season of the series will air every Sunday at 7 pm.
This season explores Thailand with Aaliyah embarking on her first international journey with Beg Borrow Steal season nine. She will dodge through the floating market, Chinese Temple and Thai villages as she kick starts her journey which she has to complete in eight days and with Rs 1000. While she will be rewarded for completing her tasks, she will also be subjected to penalties in case she doesn?t.

Mumbai: Youth entertainment channel Bindass is launching its latest show - ?Fear Less? ? on 7 July. The show will air every Saturday at 7 pm and will also be available on web and mobile platforms.
Fear Less is is designed to make one conquer his fear and do so in a fun manner with the help of friends.
Powered by Woodland, it is in sync with the brand?s new proposition of encouraging the youth to restless, do more and act now.
The show will be hosted by Varun Mitra, who will guide the participants through their journey to overcome their long held fears motivating and encouraging them at every step.
UTV Media Networks executive director - youth channels Nikhil Gandhi said, "Fear Less is the latest offering from Bindass that empowers the youth to Rest Less and live more. You will get to see people overcoming different types of fears and phobias with the help of their friends. The show celebrates friendship and will have exciting tasks that?ll keep you on the edge of your seats."
Every episode of Fear Less will have a group of friends help that one friend in the group face his/her fear. The episode would start with the back story, profiling of the friends, the actual fear and then a solution comprising of different levels of interesting and fun tasks which will ultimately help the person?s deal with their fears in a more effective manner with confidence. It is during this journey of battling friend?s fears that friendships will rediscover themselves and set sail through a journey of joy and sorrows. Eventually the aim is to forge stronger friendships and help you get over your fear, the channel said.

NEW DELHI: Despite both news and general entertainment channels having set up their own regulatory bodies, the Information and Broadcasting Ministry issued 23 notices to various TV channels during 2011 and January this year.
All these notices were issued for showing obscenity and violence.
Government sources denied reports that any channel had gone to Court against the notices issued.
While the matter was under consideration at various stages, warnings or advisories had been issued to the other channels and four of them (Bindass, News 9, Sahara Samay and P7) were even asked to run apology scrolls. In only MTV?s case, the channel was let off after reviewing the programme.
The notices included only four notices to news channels: News 9, Times Now, Sahara Samay, and P7.
In the general entertainment channels, four notices were issued to Bindass, two each to Sony TV and Channel ?V?, and one each to Sony Pix, Zee Trendz, MTV, TLC, People Live, FX Channel, NDTV Good Times, Star World, Fox Crime, and FTV;and Enter 10 which is the only channel to have received a notice in 2012.
