Discovery Communications acquires majority share in FoodFood
MUMBAI: Discovery Communications has announced an agreement to partner with India’s top culinary celebrity Sanjeev Ka
MUMBAI: A+E Networks|TV18 has elevated Sudheer K G to the post of vice president and head programming of its factual entertainment channel History TV18 with immediate effect. Till now he was vice president - programming for History TV18.
In his new role, Sudheer will oversee and drive the programming strategy for the channel and will endeavour to create a superlative advantage for History TV18 in the competitive factual genre television space.
He will report in to A+E Networks|TV18 programming head Ritu Kapur.
A+E Networks|TV18 president Ajay Chacko said, "With a career spanning over 15 years, Sudheer, with his vast experience in programming, scheduling, acquisitions and production has taken History TV18 to new heights. He is key role to the channel delivering the best viewing experience to its audiences."

During his earlier tenure at Discovery Networks India Sudheer was instrumental in the programming and language initiatives of Discovery, Animal Planet and TLC.

Animal Planet is hosting special programmes to celebrate Mother?s Day on 12 May from 4 pm - 6 pm.
Audience will get to witness some of the most ?extraordinary? mother-child moments of the planet?s ?amazing? creatures in the episodes like- Super Mums, Echo And The Elephants Of Amboseli and Wild Mothers And Babies, African River Goddess and Sita?s Story.
?Super Mums? is a story in the wild, good mothers need to be clever operators if they want their kids to survive and in turn, breed themselves.
The ?Echo and The Elephants of Amboseli? is a story of a mother?s journey to keep her family alive. Echo is a wise elephant matriarch who lives in South Kenya alongside fifteen hundred other wild African elephants who protects them from attacks by lions and growing conflict with angry Masai farmers.
The ?Wild Mothers and Babies? looks at the funniest, dangerous and heartbreaking moments. It is at this point when bonds are forged between parent and child.
The ?African River Goddess? follows the life of a young crocodile mother as she mates, bears eggs, guards her nest and sees most of her offspring perish in the treacherous waters of the Nile.
The ?Sita?s Story? is the tiger and queen of the forest, hunter, mate and mother. Like all tigers, Sita hunts alone, stealthily. Large deers called Sambars, are her favourite prey. Follow Sita as she teaches her offspring to hunt and learn the ways of life in the jungle.
MUMBAI: Animal Planet will kick off the show ?Where Tigers Rule? on 1 April.
The show, which looks at the tiger?s behavior, predatory skills, legends and issues related to its survival, will air every night at 9 pm.
Filmed in forests, grasslands and protect reserves, the show will provide a look into the mysterious world of the tiger.
Joining hands with Animal Planet are Bollywood actors Ajay Devgn, Bipasha Basu and Olympic Gold Medalist Abhinav Bindra. The channel believes that such efforts will augment its efforts to generate nationwide interest on tigers and the threats affecting their survival.
MUMBAI: Animal Planet has embarked on a month-long programming special on India?s national animal titled ?Where Tigers Rule?, which will aim to bring to the fore engaging and varied stories on this animal from India and around the world.
Olympic Gold Medalist Abhinav Bindra and leading Bollywood actors Ajay Devgn and Bipasha Basu have joined hands with Animal Planet to show their support ?Save Tiger? movement. They will augment the channel?s efforts to generate nationwide interest on tigers and the threats affecting their survival.
Premiering every night at 9 pm in April only on Animal Planet, ?Where Tigers Rule? will present viewers with engaging programmes on the tiger?s behaviour, predatory skills, legends and issues related to its survival.
