    MUMBAI: Paritosh Joshi, the chief executive officer of Star CJ Network India, the 50:50 JV between Star India and South Korea?s CJ O Shopping, has quit the company.

    Talking to Indiantelevision.com, Joshi confirmed that 23 April was his last day at the company and that he will now start his own venture.

    "I have been thinking about doing something entrepreneurial since some time. After working for over 27 years in this industry (media and entertainment), I am now hoping to shape the ideas and build a business model. It will take some time, but will be in the media and entertainment domain,? Joshi said.

    Joshi had joined Star Network in August 2005 as president - advertising sales & distribution. In 2009, he was named the CEO of the at STAR CJ Network India.

    Joshi started his career in 1985 with Procter & Gamble as a product executive. He has also worked at ITC, Business Standard and Quest International.

    Joshi is an alumnus of IIM-Ahmedabad.

    Joshi will continue to be Mentor at MentorEdge (mentoredge.com) and Member of the Board of Governors of the Media Research Users Council (MRUC). He is also director at Indian Broadcasting Foundation.
