MUMBAI: An apocalypse is looming. A battle royale is unfolding. Is saving the cheerleader really going to save the world? Find out when Heroes season finale explodes on Star World on Wednesday, 27 June at 9 pm.

As the sci-fi saga caps off its debut season, compelling questions will be answered and mysteries will be solved. Who is the exploding man set to wipe New York City off the map? Can the combined force of the key heroes stop the catastrophe? Which hero will make the ultimate sacrifice?

Boasting cinema-worthy special effects, the final chapter in the Heroes saga is one of the most anticipated TV events of the year. "[The finale] is like a $90 million movie," says Heroes creator Tim Kring. "It‘s just? big." Kring also hints that the season ender may mark the demise of at least one key character. "This is the kind of show that has to kill some people off. My plan was to simply kill the ones that weren‘t working. And now I don‘t know which ones to kill off! That‘s how well things are working right now."

The closing episode also sets the stage for the show‘s second season. "It shows you a good three minutes of where season two is going to pick up. It‘ll be in a very, very interesting place," says cast member Adrian Pasdar, who plays dodgy politico Nathan Petrelli. When the finale aired in the US, it easily won its timeslot and eclipsed the much-touted two-hour finale of 24.

Revolving around a group of ordinary people who possess extraordinary power, Heroes has been listed by Entertainment Weekly as one of the best sci-fi shows from the past 25 years. Lauded by critics, it picked up two Golden Globe nominations and was named Favorite New Drama at the People‘s Choice Awards.

On Wednesday, 27 June at 9pm, catch the explosive conclusion to a season-long thrill ride as the Heroes finale airs first and exclusively on Star World.

  • The film Marie Antoinette is all set to release today

Submitted by ITV Production on Jun 22, 2007

MUMBAI: Academy Award-winning screenwriter and Oscar nominated director Sofia Coppola, brings forth a youthful and contemporary 21 st century movie about an 18th Century legend ? Marie Antoinette. The film stars Kirsten Dunst, Jason Schwartzman, Judy Davis, Rip Torn, Rose Byrne, Asia Argento, Molly Shannon, Shirley Henderson, Danny Huston and Steve Coogan and is based on the book Marie Antoinette: The Journey by Antonia Fraser. Sofia Coppola‘s Masterpiece is all set to release in Mumbai on 22 June .

Often maligned, passionately debated and ultimately a misunderstood young woman, Marie Antoinette (Kirsten Dunst), through Coppola‘s vision, emerges neither as staid historical villain nor divine idol ? but as a confused and lonely teenage outsider thrust against her will into a decadent and scandal-plagued world on the eve of disaster.

"My main objective was to not make a big, historical epic," says Sofia Coppola of her original approach to Marie Antoinette. "Her life is a huge historical chronicle, and while I was respectful of that, I wanted to tell a much more impressionistic story from Marie Antoinette‘s point of view as we watch her grow and mature. Most of the stories we know about her come from other people‘s perceptions of her. I was much less interested in the political and historical views of her and more in her personal experience. Rather than a stuffy, formal portrait, I wanted to reveal the way people must have behaved when they were behind closed doors." she adds.
