Bamboo Fun has a stylish, contemporary, white design and comes in two wide-format sizes, small (overall tablet size 210 x 194 x 11 mm, active area size 148 x 92 mm) and medium (overall tablet size 280 x 235 x 11 mm, active area size 217 x 135 mm). The small-sized tablet is also available in silver, while the medium-sized tablet also comes in an elegant black. All models include a precision, wireless mouse to be used with the tablet.

As part of the package, Corel Painter Essentials 3* ? a simple-to-use and powerful painting application is included in both sizes. Premium photo editing software is also included: Adobe Photoshop Elements 5 for PC (Adobe Photoshop Elements 4 for Mac)* with medium-sized Bamboo Fun tablets, and Ulead PhotoImpact 12 SE with small-sized Bamboo Fun tablets. These software bundles provid e the ideal combination of digital imaging hardware and software to optimize creativity in a simple, intuitive way.

Bamboo Fun is easy to use and with a few strokes of the digital pen and its advanced pressure-sensitive resolution, digital images and photos can be easily edited; red-eye in photographs can be precisely removed and the smallest of imperfections can be accurately adjusted. Paintings, sketches or drawings can be given a more authentic look, as the pressure-sensitive pen enables strokes of varying degrees of thickness to be applied.

Bamboo Fun also unlocks powerful pen-based features, including intelligent handwriting recognition found in current operating systems, particularly Microsoft Windows Vista and Mac OS. Personal touches, such as notes in documents or signatures at the end of emails, can be added, providing an enhanced and personalized way of using the computer at home or at work.

The four programmable ExpressKeys on the tablet itself can be assigned with everyday shortcuts such as cut and paste. Using the ExpressKeys together with the pen provides an efficient way of working so that the best possible results can be achieved quickly and without difficulty. Bamboo Fun also has a new Touch Ring that makes zooming and scrolling easier.

The ergonomically-designed, cordless and battery-free digital pen matches the tablet in color and has two separate buttons, which can be configured as required. For quick corrections, the pen can simply be flipped upside down to use the pressure -sensitive eraser at the other end, similar to a real-world pencil. The pen has 512 levels of pressure sensitivity to precisely edit images in an easy and convenient way.

Bamboo Fun carries a Microsoft certification of ‘Certified for Vista‘, however each tablet also supports Macs.

A recent, independent study recommends that due to the significant reduction in muscle tension when using a pen tablet, mouse users ? with or without typical RSI complaints ? should switch to using a pen tablet as often as possible. The RSI study is available to download from the ergonomics section on the Wacom website - http://www.wacom-asia.com/technical/ergonomics/ergonomics.html.

  • CNN Investigates muslim extremism in the United Kingdom

Submitted by ITV Production on Sep 22, 2007

MUMBAI: London has become a target by its? home-grown Islamic extremists whose messages of violence and death have divided the Muslim communities in the United Kingdom.CNN chief international correspondent Christiane Amanpour investigates the cultural conflicts within the country?s Muslim communities and why the radical minority is creating such division among Muslims in ?The War Within? airing Saturday, January 20.

This hour-long documentary explores how the London commuter attacks of July 7, 2005 and the foiled airline terrorism plot in August 2006 have forced a spotlight on the growing tensions among the Islamic community of all ages.

?Christiane examines the complex issues that are starting to tear apart the large British Muslim community?, said CNN International senior vice president Rena Golden. ?The simmering tension, angst and disillusionment in the faces and words of those she interviews underlines the difficulties now faced by many countries around the world.?

Some Muslims in the UK assert that home-grown extremists have "hijacked" their religion, distorted its tenets and spread fear and misunderstanding in the name of Islam. Hanif Kadar, a youth worker in the London suburb of Walthamstow, says that foreign policy is the leading cause that is bringing in young Muslims into the extremists? circles.

?It?s the minority radical groups that use [foreign policy] to get to our young people,? Kadar said. ?There?s a minority in the schools that believe?blowing people up is cool.? Amanpour also talks to Anjem Choudary and Omar Brooks, both well-known Islamic extremists in Britain whose ideologies drastically differ from those of mainstream Muslims.

Choudary pushes for Shari?a, or Islamic law, to be enforced in Britain: ?All of the world belongs to Allah and we will live according to the Shari?a wherever we are.? Brooks, a self-appointed cleric?, says the Quran sanctions violence: ?We are the Muslims. We can drink the blood of the enemy and we can face them anywhere - that is Islam and that is jihad. ?But there are those in the community who hold views that strongly oppose those of Choudary and Brooks.

Imam Usama Hasan, an Islamic scholar who memorized the Quran by age 11, rejects their radical ideologies and says they skew the teachings of Islam to support their ?wrong intentions.? ?The people who do this kind of action and who support it are a very small minority," Hasan said. "But it only takes a handful, of course, to create devastation."Amanpour also interviews Shahid Malik, one of only four Muslim members of the British Parliament. Malik acknowledges that even moderate Muslims feel more alienated by fear and suspicion since the terrorist attacks in 2005.

?I think the Muslim community does feel under siege?there?s a degree of polarization that?s taken place in our communities.?

  • Rossi-Stoner battle live on Ten Sports

Submitted by ITV Production on Sep 21, 2007

MUMBAI: Valentino Rossi proved he emains the ultimate fighter in the high-speed world of MotoGP when he won the Portugal Grand Prix to take his title battle with the runaway leader Casey Stoner for yet another week.

And as they take their tooth-and-nail battle to the famous Twin Ring Motegi circuit near Tokyo for the Japanese Grand Prix this week, Ten Sports, the most watched sports channel of the sub-continent, will be present to bring all the action live.

It will be an early morning start for racing enthusiasts in the subcontinent, with the live telecast starting at 7:15 am IST on Sunday, September 23.

In Portugal, Stoner needed to score 15 points more than Rossi to secure the crown with four races in hand, but the Ducati rider faced clutch problems and had to settle for third place behind Rossi and Spain?s Dani Pedrosa.

Stoner now has 287 points, 76 more than Rossi. The Italian former champion has his work cut out and will need to win at least three of the last four races to have any chance of pulling off a miraculous victory over his Australian rival.

The Twin Ring Motegi circuit will always be remembered for the sportsmanship of Rossi. In 2005, he only needed to finish fourth here to wrap up the championship, when his bike clipped the Honda of good friend Marco Melandri. Rossi was reducing the distance on the leader Capirossi, and could have continued. Instead, he stopped and did not finish the race as he helped an injured Melandri.

Motegi was built by Honda and is set in the Hakko mountain chain. The picturesque 2.98mile circuit is surrounded by forest, with the Nakagawa river flowing by. The name itself indicates two racing courses: the Super Speedway ? an American NASCAR-style oval course ? and a European-style road course.

The track has a comparatively long back straight, but a series of slow corners and also two tunnels which allows the oval to run round the outside. It is a stop-and-go circuit with some hard braking and accelerating areas.
