Submitted by ITV Production on Dec 17, 2007

MUMBAI: Embark on a personal quest of discovery with the new documentary series Miracle Quest on STAR WORLD premiering 19 Dec at 9pm. Join expert and explorer Flavia Colgan as she treks around the world traveling to miracle sites, speaking to skeptics and believers alike. From investigating the many visions of Mary that were reported in Lourdes, France, to America‘s "melting pot of miracles" in the southern states, to the "miracles of the flesh" in Italy, Miracle Quest combines astonishing stock footage and amazing recreations of the past with vibrant people of the present, the world of miracles unfolds before your very eyes.

From the stigmata of Padre Pio in Italy to visions of the Virgin Mary in France, ‘Miracle Quest‘ takes viewers on an amazing journey to the limits of human understanding. Sixty-nine percent of Americans say they believe in miracles. Religious tourism in Italy alone generates over $4.5 billion each year. The French city of Lourdes attracts more visitors than all the wonders of Egypt because of six crutches that hang on a rusty wire - a symbol of a miracle cure, for those who believe. Miracles are big business.

Take a "front-row seat" as host, Flavia Colgan, embarks on a personal quest of discovery. With a sense of adventure and open-minded curiosity, Flavia will examine the theories, question the authorities, and speak with those who have experienced the miraculous first-hand.

Explore the unexplained mysteries that have baffled the world with ‘Miracle Quest‘, which premieres this Wednesday, December 19th at 9pm on Star World.

  • Proteas-Windies T20 match live on Ten Sports

Submitted by ITV Production on Dec 14, 2007

MUMBAI: With captain Chris Gayle promising a fight, and given the fact that rival skipper Graeme Smith will be sitting out, the first Twenty20 international between South Africa and the West Indies is expected to be a cracker of a match.

And Ten Sports, the most watched sports channel of the sub-continent, will be at St George?s Park in Port Elizabeth on Sunday, 16 December, to bring ball-by-ball live telecast of the match. The live action starts 9:30 pm IST.

With three straight wins over a battling Zimbabwe side after their shocking loss in the first one day international, the West Indies will be hoping to continue the momentum when they take on South Africa for three Tests, five one day internationals and two Twenty20 internationals.

On arrival in South Africa, Gayle said: ?We respect the South Africans, but we don?t fear them. They are a good team and are playing good cricket at the moment, so we know the challenge at hand.

?But we are confident and we believe in our ability. We played well in Zimbabwe and we are here in South Africa to continue the good work. They will be in for a fight.?

Smith, who has been advised three week?s off after contracting an infection during the tour of Pakistan, will be replaced with the experienced Shaun Pollock as captain.

And even though South Africa are the second best ODI team as per the ICC rankings, they will be apprehensive of the West Indies, at least in the Twenty20 matches. And they will surely not forget the Gayle lashing in the inaugural Twenty20 World Cup, where they managed to win despite a whirlwind 117 in just 57 balls by the West Indian batsman.

The first Twenty20 match will be followed by the three Test matches (Port Elizabeth from 26 December, Cape Town from 2 January and Durban from 10 January). The second Twenty20 is scheduled for Friday, January 18, at the Wanderers in Johannesburg.

  • Alka Yagnik back home on the sets of L'il Champs

Submitted by ITV Production on Dec 13, 2007

MUMBAI: It was a family re-union of sorts on the sets of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li‘l Champs when Queen of Playback singing, Alka Yagnik, who had judged Season 2006 of the show appeared as a Special Guest for its latest episode." Waapis ghar aayi hoon aisa lagta hai", said an emotional Alka. Her voice shook as she confessed that she‘s not had as much fun judging any other reality show as she‘d had on the sets of L‘il Champs.

Regaling the audience with her evergreen Saajan hit, Dekha hai Pehli Baar, the honey-laced voice only had words of encouragement for the young ones. An insider revealed, "Alka was tired of the staged fights between judges in the other reality shows and the positive vibes and lively banter on the sets of Li‘l Champs came as a breath of fresh air to her". The singer couldn‘t contain herself when Sonu broke into ‘Aaj Ki Raat‘ in a female voice at Aditya Narayan‘s request. Given the whale of a time she had shooting for the episode, we wouldn‘t be too surprised if the songstress bids adieu to Star Voice of India and becomes a regular on her favorite L‘il Champs.
