  • Switch to 'No Full Stops' to learn 'Yoga' with its diverse forms, this Saturday only on TIMES NOW, at 7:30 pm

Submitted by ITV Production on Aug 01, 2008

MUMBAI: Yoga, meaning union in Sanskrit, is a composite of ancient spiritual practices, and also a school of spiritual thought that originated in India. It remains a vibrant living tradition and is seen as a means to enlightenment. But how many of us really understand the benefits of it? Yoga is ‘therapeutic‘.

In today‘s world, we, human beings are increasingly becoming dependent on machines, to help us in our daily household chores and also at workplaces. This tends to make us lazy. People work for hours in office seated tightly on to their chairs, leading to total absence of any physical movement. Smoking, eating at odd hours, stress and other factors also lead to early degeneration of the human body. People are inflicted with ailments of the heart, liver and spine, quite early in their lives.

‘Yoga‘ comes to the picture, at this juncture. People hardly have time to work out in gyms. In contrast practice yoga at your leisure and in the comfort of your home. It not only relaxes you, but keeps you fresh, unwinds you and makes you feel energetic throughout the day.

‘No Full Stops‘ takes you through a different world of Yoga with its different forms and benefits.Yoga interlinks mind and body and given the right tools, it can find harmony and heal in itself. No Full Stops‘ takes a sneak peek at Power Yoga, artistic yoga, couple yoga and facial yoga.Power Yoga does not follow a set series of poses. In the west, it‘s described as fitness based approach to vinasa style yoga. Artistic Yoga is a completely new genre of yoga exercising, developed by Himalayan master Bharat Thakur. It is a flow of asanas (yoga positions) combined with pranayama (breathing techniques) that energizes the body and quietens the mind. The couple Yoga celebrates the relationship with yoga therapy, little massage and a lot of heart and soul communication. Isn‘t it romantic? Facial yoga is a series of toning exercises, for the muscles of your face, which claims to erase wrinkles.

So why wait? Tune into TIMES NOW this Saturday and have a spiritual, healing and a relaxing weekend in midst of a stress stricken environment and enhance your life for the better!

  • Cricketnirvana.com: The soul of Indian cricket

Submitted by ITV Production on Aug 01, 2008

MUMBAI: Cricketnirvana.com, the soul of Indian cricket, is a cricket information platform which is truly one of a kind. How else can someone explain the fact that within just four months of being launched, the website has 75000 registered users, 1 million unique views and a whopping 10 million page views. In fact it is all set to cross the 10 million page views per month mark in August 2008. This number is expected to jump to an unbelievable 30 million with the upcoming cricket season from October to December 2008.

Perhaps these numbers were proof enough for PC World to award it with the ?best in design? award recently.

The platform boasts of a massive amount of information on cricket, be it featuring young and upcoming players like Cheteshwar Anand, who is touted as being ?the Next Wall? to a special section on women?s cricket. Cricketnirvana is the only site that has a section dedicated specially to women?s cricket, where it regularly features Indian & international women cricketers.

Cricketing ?action? takes a whole new meaning on Cricketnirvana , with the Video on Demand (VoD) service, using which registered members can watch latest matches at any time and also exciting shows like SportsZone, Dial C for Cricket and Cricket Tadka Maarke which could previously be watched only on NEO Cricket.

Coming as a big surprise is the fact that in spite of being a new entrant in the cricketing cyber world, the Cricketnirvana has been successful in being the first one to break global cricket news. Within a span of 4 months, Cricketnirvana has become a force to reckon with, as established players like Cricinfo and wire services like ANI and Indian and International publications like Sydney Herald, Mid-day and Mumbai Mirror have been quoting stories from the site.

Cricket lovers would know that the first time they read about

    Mohd. Asif testing positive

ICC CEO Malcolm Speed being sacked or

Lloyd taking over as ICC cricket committee chairman was on Cricketnirvana.

The site is able to do this because Nimbus Communications, the group which Cricketnirvana belongs to, has bought the global media rights (terrestrial and global satellite TV, radio and broadband) for cricket in India upto 2010 through a $ 612 million (Rs. 2600 crore) bid.

Cricket fans would be happy to know that now; they too, can own a team, albeit a virtual one, a la Shahrukh Khan. Members can take part in the contest ?Fantasy Cricket? and create their virtual teams using real world players. The fun doesn?t end there. Winners of this contest get to appear on NEO Cricket?s interactive show, Dial C for Cricket and also get a chance to meet their favourite cricket stars.

With news, information, contests and exciting prizes, Cricketnirvana is definitely a boon for cricket lovers.
