As everyone in Chennai are aware that RJ BIG Dheena has successfully completed 92 hours and 7 minutes RJ marathon last August. This August he is taking a big leap and will attempt to break Guinness records by continuously RJing for more than 136 hours.   • India-Sri Lanka ODIs live on Ten Sports

    MUMBAI: Following their 2-1 loss in the Test series, India will be thirsting for revenge when they take on hosts Sri Lanka in the five-match One Day International series starting at Dambulla on Monday, August 18.

    And Ten Sports, the most watched sports channel in the Sub-continent, will be at the Emerald Isle to cover live and exclusive what promises to be an engrossing series.

    The first two matches of the series are to be played as day matches in Dambulla, followed by three successive day-night matches at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The second match is on Wednesday, August 20, followed by matches on August 24, 26 and 29.

    Live coverage of the Dambulla matches will start at 10 AM IST, while the day-night ties will start at 2.30 PM IST. All the matches will be preceded by Straight Drive, the analysis programme featuring Sanjay Manjrekar and other guests. Straight Drive will make a return during the innings break, and at the end of each match.

    Mahendra Singh Dhoni returns as captain of the Indian team, and his immediate job would be to ensure his team handles the twin spin threat of Sri Lanka ? Muttiah Muralitharan and Ajantha Mendis ? better than they did at the final of the Asia Cup.

    India will feel the absence of Sachin Tendulkar, who pulled out of the series with an elbow injury, but will be buoyed by the form of Yuvraj Singh, who scored a scintillating century in the only warm-up match before the ODIs.

    Sri Lanka, on the other hand, will go in with the confidence of winning the Test series and dominating the famed Indian batting line-up for most part of the three Test matches. They also enjoy an upper hand against India at home, having won 19 matches and lost only nine in the 34 times the two teams have squared up on Lankan soil.

  • 94.3 MY FM to blare Sounds of Freedom on Independence Day

    MUMBAI: On the 61st anniversary of India‘s Independence 94.3 MY FM has planned an array of on air and on ground activities including the broadcast of late Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru‘s famous midnight speech "A Tryst With Destiny" and a kite flying contest. MY FM is launching MY Sounds of Freedom through which it will take its listeners back in time. It will be all about reliving the day - 15th August 1947 when Jawahar Lal Nehru delivered the famous speech "A tryst with destiny".

    In contrast to this historic speech the vox pop of today‘s generation shall be broadcasted live to let the listeners compare for themselves the meaning of independence after 61 years of being Independent. MY FM shall also organise Flight of Freedom, a kite flying contest for the general public, where people will take up the challenge of flying the biggest kite in the city.

    On MY FM‘s Amritsar station based near Wagah border the Independence Day celebrations have already begun with the live coverage of a joint Indo-Pak march from Jallianwala Bagh yesterday. The march has been initiated by senior journalist and former MP Mr. Kuldip Nayyar. All the delegates from India as well as Pakistan had lunch together later in the day at a local Hotel. The meet has been named as ‘Aao ral ke roti khaiye‘ (Let us eat food together). MY FM has covered it to highlight the joint heritage of the people from India and Pakistan.

    MY FM Amritsar shall also cover live a musical night being organized on the eve of Independence Day at Dana Mandi Attari, near the Indo-Pak Border.
