• CNN-IBN to air special episode on Bayern Munich football club on Sports 360

    MUMBAI: CNN-IBN will air a special episode on Germany?s biggest football club Bayern Munich on Sports 360 on 21 September at 7:30pm.
    Hosted by Rudraneil Sen Gupta the episode will feature a story of six young football aspirants from Kolkata and Goa who were selected by Bayern Munich to be trained for seven days.

    ?All major football tournaments including the professional clubs are increasingly being followed by Indian sports lovers today. Football and Indian talent in the game is an interesting combination that will attract the viewer and definitely tickle the minds of all the young football aspirants?, said CNN IBN editor-in-chief Rajdeep Sardesai.

    The programme will bring forth the history of one of the most popular football clubs of the world Bayern Munich.

The list, which appears in the 75th Anniversary edition available now through October, recognizes individuals who are making history across every field of endeavor.

    Esquire recognized Ronnie for partnering with Disney, Fox Searchlight, Sony and Will Smith‘s Overbrook Entertainment Production company to expand the global reach of UTV, and with it, Indian pop culture.

    On Ronnie‘s achievements, the magazine commented, "This entrepreneur has positioned himself as the king of all Indian media Since helping to introduce Indians to cable in 1981 and daily soap operas in 1994, he has staked out lucrative positions in the country‘s broadcasting, internet and video-gaming industries."

    Esquire further added, "Screwvala and his UTV film unit have co-opted Western concepts like co-financing, diversifying revenue models and brand extensions, driving a surge in industry wide profits and improving the quality and cachet of Indian films. He‘s earned comparisons to Louis Mayer and Jack Warner, proto-moguls who turned moviemaking into a global business."
