  • World TV premiere of on Zee TV

Submitted by ITV Production on Dec 11, 2008

MUMBAI: Aamir Khan‘s directorial venture, Taare Zameen Par, lives up to the huge expectations one attaches to the actor who is known to be a perfectionist. The movie sensitively portrays problems of a dyslexic child. The film raises one question in the minds of all parents?..Why does the Indian education system only emphasise on academics without letting a child develop his/her natural talent? It is also a rap on parents who constantly compare their children with others. Taare Zameen Par is not only a film meant for kids but is made for everyone including parents and teachers.

Recently, Aamir made a special appearance on the sets of Zee TV?s Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2009 and was deeply moved by the fact that one of the participants, Debojeet Dutta from Kolkata is similar to Aaamir? casting for the lead character of the dyslexic child Ishaan. Debojeet, on his part, brought tears to everyone?s eyes with his beautiful rendition of the song ?Maa? from the same film.

    Synopsis ?

Darsheel Safary essaying the character of Ishaan Awasthi is brilliant and one is able to connect with him emotionally right from the first scene. Ishaan‘s problem of not being able to read and write is misunderstood as lethargy and laziness on his part and he is packed off to a boarding school, where life turns further uphill. Thankfully, he meets Ram Shankar Nikumbh (Aamir Khan), a temporary art teacher who understands his problem and decides to help him. A special mention for Tisca Chopra who portrays the role of Ishaan‘s mother with immense maturity (Maya Awasthi) torn between her husband and child. Ishaan‘s father played by Vipin Sharma is convincing as a parent who wants his children to succeed in every field without realizing that he is being cruel. The movie has many special moments that involve the viewer emotionally - the simplicity of the film is what ends up being the best thing about it. The climax though quite predictable is extremely well-shot and leaves one with a lump in the throat.

Watch the world TV premiere of Taare Zameen Par On Sunday, 14th December at 8 pm?only on Zee TV.
