  • NewsX emerges as a clear winner on Independence Day programming

    MUMBAI: As the whole nation marked the spirit of freedom, on the eve of India?s 62nd Independence Day, special prime time programme on NewsX, Midnight Nations*, emerged as a clear winner. With the relative share of 26%, this special programme over shadowed the competition with a notable difference. Midnight Nations brought to the television screen a refreshingly different tone and content by taking a look at the two nations ? India and Pakistan.

    The one-hour special, Midnight Nations, aired on 14th August 09 at 9 PM brought together experts and personalities from India and Pakistan to discuss the coexistence of the two nations since their independence. The studio based panel discussion saw participation from experts such as Vikram Sood (Ex RAW), G Parthasarthy and Saeed Naqvi, from India; Hamid Gul (former chief of ISI), Hamir Mir (Senior Journalist) and Film Maker Seema Sarwar from Pakistan.

    Speaking on the achievement, the Company Spokesperson said: ?At NewsX, we believe that disruptive programming is what a viewer is looking for in the cluttered world of news channels.   • Radio Misty to promote songs on Toy Train

    MUMBAI: On the occasion of 128th anniversary of toy train, a CD was today released here narrating the history of the world heritage Darjeeling Himalayan railway. Radio Misty 94.3 fm, the first and Number one station of North Bengal will promote this on air.

    The CD contains information about the toy train and is full of descriptions of the 80 km narrow gauge track and the railway stations. It was produced by a lyricist, musician and former divisional commercial superintendent and public relations officer of NF Railway, Tarak Nath Bhattacharjee. Bhattacharjee introduced package trips, chartered trips with steam locomotives during his tenure.
    He said 3000 CDs would be distributed through tour operators to popularise toy train ride among tourists. If Railway Board, UNESCO or DHR lovers came forward the CD in different languages would also be made, Bhattacharjee said.

    The deputy director of tourism, W Bengal, Gopal Lama who released the CD lauded the venture to spread the message of toy train. Radio Misty has taken on air the Inauguration ceremony. Beside this a special show was aired on toy train.

  • Radio Mirchi to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi with Ganesh specials

    MUMBAI: Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM has lined up an array of special programmes to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi.

    Starting 23 August, the radio station will play popular will play special Ganpati songs in its devotional Mirchi morning show, Devraag.

    As part of the line up, the station will also provide listeners an opportunity to wish their families and friends through Mirchi‘s Modak service.

    The station will air a special contest-Ganpaticha-Jaijaikar for listeners where they have to count the number of times the chants are played on the station in a particular hour and send in their responses.

    Additionally, personalities including Asha Bhosle, John Abraham Sachin Tendulkar, Shahid Kapoor and Salman Khan will be heard extending their best wishes to the Radio Mirchi listeners.

    Finally, on 3 September, the Visarjan day, Radio Mirchi will provide live updates about the Visarjan from all over Mumbai.
