Omar Qureshi appraises the latest releases for the week

MUMBAI: Omar Qureshi gives his take on the latest line-up of movies for the week. After playing the role of a likeable character of Sid on Wake Up Sid, Ranbir Kapoor returns with yet another release, Rajkumar Santoshi‘s Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. The film has Ranbir paired opposite the gorgeous Katrina Kaif. Going by the promos, this is one that promises to be a complete laugh riot. Ranbir plays the title role of Prem who is the president of an organization called ‘Happy Club‘. While he always strives to spread happiness and cheer amongst people, his actions backfires most of the time, resulting in disastrous consequences. Katrina plays the role of a sweet girl next door, Jennifer aka Jenny, a complete romantic who is on the lookout for the Prem (love) of her life. The film marks the return of Rajkumar Santoshi to comic genre.

Followed by the film ?Jail? that created a lot of buzz around Neil Nitin Mukhesh. Directed by Madhur Bandharkar, the story revolves around ‘Neil Nitin Mukesh‘ as ‘Parag Dixit‘ who is happy dreaming about a decent job and a happy life with his mother and his girl friend ‘Mughda Godse‘ as ‘Maansi‘. His dream and life changes all of a sudden, because of the unfortunate incidents that took place. All that ?Parag?, remembers is that he is handcuffed and randomly beaten up by the cops. How does he overcome this situation? Find out who comes in to support and lend a helping hand to ‘Parag‘. Watch out for Omar?s take on the movie before it hit theatres near you.

On the latest Hollywood release is ?The Informant? directed by Steven Soderbergh stars Matt Damon, Scott Bakula, Joel McHale and Melanie Lynskey. The story is about Mark Whitacre who has worked for lysine developing company ADM for many years and has even found his way through the upper management. But nothing has prepared him for the job he is about to undertake - being a spy for the FBI. Unwillingly but pressured into working as an informant against the illegal price-fixing activities of his company, Whitacre gradually adopts the idea that he‘s a true secret agent.
Directed by Bart Freundlich ?The Rebound? stars the gorgeous Catherine ? Zeta Jones and Justin Bartha. In New York City, a single mom captivates her new neighbor, a much younger man. An older woman and younger man romance sizzles the air in the movie.
